영어 구동사 get on 배우기, 의미와 예제

get on는 구동사이며 품사는 구동사입니다. get on의 대략적인 의미는 「(안부 등에 대해 묻거나 답하는 말에서) 하다[지내다], 헤쳐 나가다., (사회생활 등에서) 성공하다, 꾸려 나가다, 에게 불리한 정보를 입수하다, …의 약점을 쥐다, (버스, 지하철 등을) 타다」입니다. 아래의 자료는 get on에 대해 사전에 나와 있는 자료를 보기 편하게 정리한 것들입니다.

on은 고대 영어 on에서 유래했습니다. 고대영어(Old English) on은 "위의 위치에(에 있는), 접촉하는 위치에(에 있는); 지지될 수 있는 그러한 위치에(에 있는)"의 의미로 어떤 행동이 가리키거나 가리켜 오고 있는 목표를 언급합니다. 부사로는 "about, concerning, regarding; in a position to cover(~에 관하여, ~와 관련하여, ~에 대하여; 덮어주어야 할 위치에) 등의 뜻을 갖고 있습니다.

고대 영어 on은 “in, on, into”의 뜻을 갖고 있는 an의 강세 없는 변형입니다. 어원은 게르만 조어(Proto-Germanic) 'ana “on”, 인도 게르만 공통 조어(祖語)(PIE root) 'an- "on" 입니다.

get은 1200년 경에 고대 노르웨이어 geta에서 유래했습니다. geta는 "획득하다(obtain), 도착하다( reach), beget(자식을 보다), 추측하다(guess) 등 매우 다양한 의미를 갖는 단어였습니다. geta는 다른 단어와 구를 이루어 사용되기도 했고 때로는 조동사로 사용되기도 했습니다. geta의 게르만 조어(Proto-Germanic) 는 getan이고 PIE 어원은 ghend- "입니다. ghend-는 "움켜 쥐다(to seize), 취하다(take)"의 뜻을 갖고 있었습니다.
