이번 중에는 긴 인터뷰 문장 하나만을 살펴 보겠습니다.
긴 인터뷰 문장
다음 문장은 총 4개의 문장이 대시로 연결되어 있는 문장입니다. 여기서 대시는 등위접속사 and의 기능을 하고 있습니다.
[30/68] ⑴My understanding of the term 'algorithm' is that it's not necessarily the bogyman, or its not necessarily something that is, you know, inscrutable or mysterious to all people - ⑵it's the set of instructions that you write in some mathematical form or in some software code - ⑶so it's the repeated set of instructions that are sequenced, that are used and applied to answer a question or resolve a problem - ⑷it's a simple as that, actually.
첫째 문장입니다.
⑴My understanding of the term 'algorithm' is that ①it's not necessarily the bogyman, or ②it’s not necessarily something that is, you know, ⓐinscrutable or ⓑmysterious to all people
that명사절이 보어인 2형식 문장입니다. that절은 두개의 문장이 or 등위절로 연결되어 있습니다.
두번째 절 or 다음의 its는 it’s가 되어야 합니다.
주어는 「My understanding of the term 'algorithm'」은 동명사구로 my가 동명사 understanding의 의미상 주어입니다.
「you know」는 삽입절입니다. 어떤 절이 문장에 삽입될 경우는 삽입절 앞뒤로 콤마(또는 대시) 표시를 해 줍니다.
두번째 절의 that 제한적 용법의 관계대명사로 선행사는 something입니다. that이 관계대명사로 쓰일 때는 which와 기능이 거의 동일하지만 계속적용법으로는 사용할 수 없습니다.
★ inscrutable 불가해한[헤아리기 어려운]로
다음은 이를 직역한 것입니다.
⑴ 알고리즘이라는 용어에 대해 내가 이해하는 것은 ①[그것이 반드시 부기맨일 필요가 없다는 것] 또는 ②[그것이 반드시 [당신이 [모든 사람들에게 헤아리기 어렵거나 (또는) 신비하다고] 알아야 할] 무언 가일 필요가 없다는 것] 입니다.
두번째 문장입니다.
that은 제한적 용법의 관계대명사로 선행사는 instructions입니다.
⑵it's the set of instructions that you write in some mathematical form or in some software code
⑵그것은 [당신이 어떤 수학적인 형식이나 (또는) 소프트웨어 코드 내의] 명령의 집합체입니다.
세번째 문장입니다.
세개의 that 관계대명사절이 A, B and C의 방식으로 연결되어 있습니다. and 뒤에 ‘that are’가 생략되어 있습니다. 원칙적으로 주격관계대명사는 생략될 수 없습니다. 그러나 관계대명사가 be동사와 함께 사용된 경우라면 생략이 가능합니다. 또한 세개의 that 문장은 모두 수동태 문장입니다. ‘to answer a question or resolve a problem’는 to부정사로 부사구이며, 앞의 세개의 동사 sequenced, used, applied 등 세개의 동사가 공유하고 있습니다.
⑶so it's the repeated set of instructions that are sequenced, that are used and {that are} applied to answer a question or resolve a problem
⑶그래서 그것은 [질문에 답을 하거나 문제를 해결하기 위해 배열되고, 사용되고 적용된] 반복된 명령의 집합체입니다.
마지막 문장입니다.
⑷it's a simple as that, actually.
⑷그것은 실제로 그와 같이 간단합니다.
